CorefocusX was engaged to work with a European Manufacturing Group active in the aluminium industry. The client is a leading supplier of high-quality alumina based products and services with a worldwide customer base. The group has over 50 years of experience of working in the aluminium industry with offices in Guernsey, Switzerland and a manufacturing facility in Germany. It is also part of a larger manufacturing group with the founding company originally established in 1915.

Project Approach
CorefocusX adopted a structured and phased approach to modernise the client's infrastructure. The project began with a comprehensive Discovery Phase, ensuring the team understood the client’s specific requirements and challenges. The focus was on a secure, seamless transition from on-premise to cloud-based solutions while maintaining uninterrupted daily operations. This included extensive collaboration with stakeholders to align expectations, set clear objectives, and design a roadmap for migrating to Dynamics 365 Business Central, Office 365, SharePoint, and Exchange. Security and accessibility were prioritised throughout, with a strong emphasis on modernising CRM systems to streamline workflows and enhance customer insights.
Implementation and Timeline
The project officially launched in May 2024, following the Discovery Phase in January 2024. Within six months, CorefocusX transitioned the client’s multi-jurisdictional operations to a robust cloud infrastructure, ensuring compatibility across four countries. A rigorous implementation plan included extensive penetration testing, the migration of systems to Dynamics 365, and decommissioning the legacy Citrix environment. By September 2024, the solution was fully operational, with new Office 365 and SharePoint platforms driving improved communication and productivity. The project concluded with successful post-go-live activities, ensuring the client’s systems were optimised for resilience and scalability.
